Hilbre High School is a co-educational state secondary school located in West Kirby, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The school holds Humanities College status and is administered by the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral.
The school has been recently remodelled, with a City Learning Centre being added on the site. Reconstruction took place in phases over a period of a few years (starting approx 2001 still not fully completed).[1]
The school is run by Miss Levenson. Since she took charge in 1999 the standard of examination results has increased, with 99% of students achieving 10 or more A-D GCSEs in 2009.[2]
A latest part of the site that's been developed is the "drama studio theatre" which was funded by the school's Humanities College status and charity fund raising money kept in the schools back pockets. This new facility includes a lighting and sound booth which can be used as a recording studio.
A recently built 6th form block has also just opened. The most senior member of staff by length of service is Mr Steve Parker, IT teacher, who is now in his 40th year at the school.
